Our Content Solitudes
Complete silence surrounds us
As I sit there
On the sun-baked rock
cross-legged my choice of seat
Your warm body curled up in my arms
Tilted towards me to satisfy your parched lips.
In a bonsai-draped garden
We rest on a white marble stool,
Other spectators circle our embrace
They don’t peek
They keep their distance
For we are locked in symbiosis.
In the darkness of the room
We lay side by side,
A double-helix
Sheltered by my arms you drift away from the milky way into the Land of dreams
You hold my hand tightly
And I don’t dare to move and break our nightly bond.
